JAM Media Solutions Announces Acquisition of  Outer Banks, North Carolina and Muscatine, Iowa radio stations

East Orange, N.J., June 21, 2018 — JAM Media Solutions, LLC announces its acquisitions of 8 combined media properties in Outer Banks, North Carolina and Muscatine, Iowa. JAM Media Solutions has entered into an agreement to acquire 5 media properties in the Outer Banks, North Carolina which include 4 radio stations, WCMS-FM 94.5, WCXL-FM 104.1, WVOD-FM 99.1, WZPR-FM 92.3, and an online newspaper, “The Outer Banks Voice” from Max Radio of the Carolinas and Hengooch, LLC for a combined purchase price of $1.85 million. JAM Media Solutions also acquired 3 Muscatine, Iowa media properties from Prairie Communications, which includes 2 radio stations, KMCS-FM 93.1, KWPC-FM 95.1, and 1 newspaper, “The Voice of Muscatine” for $965,000.

Our long time general manager, and Beach 104 morning show host, Mike Smith, told me he has been asked to continue to lead his team for JAM Media Solutions following FCC approval of the ownership transfer, possibly by mid-September.”

Brian Byrnes at Paramount Media Advisors said, “Prairie Radio has been so very fortunate to be a part of the Muscatine community with KMCS-FM and KWPC-AM since 1999.  We feel we have continued the good fortune to have sold the stations to Jonathan Mason who comes to Muscatine with an extensive radio background. We know for certain that the community traditions of KMCS and KWPC will continue and grow under Jonathan’s leadership.”

The Mahlman Company represented the buyer in the MAX Media and Hengooch transaction. Bill Kehlbeck is the Broker. Paramount Media Advisors represented the seller in the Prairie Radio Group transaction. Brian Byrnes is the broker.
